The experience
Discover the very best of Norway’s Lofoten Islands on an 8-day sailing adventure from Svolvær to Bodø, combining hands-on sailing with mountain hikes, remote beaches, fishing villages and Arctic adventure. Sail between some of Lofoten’s most spectacular locations, from the dramatic cliffs of Trollfjorden and the surf beach at Unstad to historic Nusfjord, iconic Reine and the remote island of Værøy. Along the way, hike mountains, fish, explore ashore and enjoy the long days of the Arctic summer. You’re not simply a passenger. With guidance from an experienced skipper, you’ll become part of the crew, learning to steer, handle sails and take part in life aboard. The adventure finishes with an unforgettable 8–12-hour crossing of Vestfjorden to Bodø — putting your new sailing skills to work on the open water.

Itinerary
- Day 1Welcome to Svolvær
Meet your crew in Svolvær at 16:00 and settle aboard your yacht. Get to know the group, review the week ahead and learn essential safety and sail handling. If conditions allow, set sail that evening for your first Lofoten anchorage.
- Day 2Raftsundet & Trollfjorden
Sail through spectacular Raftsundet towards Trollfjorden, one of Lofoten’s most dramatic fjords. Navigate between steep mountains rising directly from the sea and experience some of Northern Norway’s most impressive coastal scenery.
- Day 3Skrova to Unstad via Henningsvær
Sail from Skrova towards Unstad, passing the iconic fishing village of Henningsvær and Gimsøya along the way. Spend the day navigating through Lofoten’s islands, mountains and sheltered waterways before reaching the wild Atlantic coast.
- Day 4Surfing at Unstad & Sail to Nusfjord
Experience Unstad, one of the world’s most remarkable Arctic surfing destinations. After time ashore, return to the yacht for an afternoon sail towards Nusfjord, a historic fishing village surrounded by dramatic Lofoten mountains.
- Day 5Reine, Reinefjord & Bunes Beach
Explore the spectacular Reine area, with opportunities to discover Reinefjord, hike around Reinebringen and visit remote Bunes Beach. Spend the day among some of Lofoten’s most iconic mountains, fjords and coastal scenery.
- Day 6Sail to Remote Værøy
Set sail for Værøy, a remote island at the outer edge of the Lofoten archipelago. Surrounded by open sea, dramatic mountains and rich birdlife, it offers a wilder side of Lofoten far from the region’s busier villages.
- Day 7Cross Vestfjorden to Bodø
Put your sailing skills into practice on the journey’s major open-water passage: an 8–12-hour crossing of Vestfjorden from Lofoten to Bodø. Take part in sailing and navigation as the mountains of Lofoten gradually disappear behind you.
- Day 8Arrival & Goodbye in Bodø
Enjoy your final morning aboard before the adventure ends in Bodø at around 10:00. Say goodbye to your skipper and fellow crew after a week of sailing, hiking and exploring the spectacular islands of Lofoten.
